hi nick. i would totally agree that sotrytelling can be an improtant part of learnnig about impact in context. And, as you say, tools like MSC, can be very useful.

however, stories can also be instrumentalised in dangerous ways. I saw this first hand on previous work with adults who had experienced homelessness - many of those people had learnt to tell instrumentalised versions of their own stories - because they were ways to unlock help from services. This meant that they lost the freedom to define their narratives on their own terms, which created significant problems for them.
